So here you are, getting ready to hire a professional Christmas Light Installation Company to install lights on your house or on your business…

Now the question…

Should I lease my Christmas lights or purchase my Christmas lights…

The problem is most Professional Christmas Light Installation Companies are going to tell you what they want you to hear. For example company A might say you have to purchase your Christmas lights because that’s their business model while company B says no no no you have to lease them.

Well did that really answer your question about whether or not you should lease or purchase? Of course not… they just said do this or do that!

Well let me explain the pros and cons because here at Holiday Light Professionals we understand most people don’t understand these 2 MAJOR differences when it comes to professional Christmas light installation.

Let’s start with leasing…

When you lease your lights that means your paying the same price year after year unless there’s a price increase for some reason. So let’s use a round number for the purpose of the example and say you are told your Christmas light installation will be $500. Ok so you now know this price should be honored for atleast the next 3 years. As part of the lease the Christmas light company owns the lights and you are simply leasing them for the season. What this means to you is you are now not responsible for storing all these lights and most important you’re not responsible for maintaining them! A light goes out… call the company and tell them and they will replace THEIR lights. Another huge benefit is let’s say you decide to use Holiday Light Professionals this year, you agree to lease and pay the $500. For some reason you didn’t like our service… just simply didn’t like the way we hung Christmas lights. Ok well guess what, next year you can go find another Christmas light installation company and use them.

You might be telling yourself, well OBVIOUSLY!

Well hold tight, let’s move on to purchasing your lights and this statement might make a little more sense.

Purchasing the lights for your Christmas light installation…

Ok so you decided to purchase from another Christmas light installation company. For this exit he price is going to be significantly higher (and if it’s not I would question the quality) so let’s say instead of leasing for $500 you decided it’s an investment and paid $1000 to purchase your Christmas lights from another company. Ok so you paid double… maybe it’s even less but this company told you these lights will last YEARS!

Great selling point right…

Well I’ll let you decide…

So you just invested $1000. Now installation every year is only going to be $200!

That’s a great deal!!!!

Or is it…

Well… you still have to pay for installation and removal of the lights every year don’t you?

Oh yeah… ok well $200 or $300 isn’t that bad.

Right?

Well remember you also have to store the lights yourself. Do you have the extra space?

Maybe that’s not an issue. Ok great.

Oh well you do have to maintain them. 1 week installated and a bulb goes out. You call the company only to be told they will be out soon with a bee one and it’s only going to cost you $20 and maybe a service fee too!

Oh no…

Well I still own expensive Christmas lights so still a good investment.

Was it?

Ok so remembering my statement earlier? I knew you would!

Ok so you purchased your lights from another company but oh my goodness they just weren’t very good. You love your Christmas lights but maybe their customer service wasn’t up to par or there was just something you didn’t like….

Just use another Christmas light company next year right?

WRONG!

Most professional Christmas light installation companies will NOT install customer owned lighting, only their own leased lighting. So now you’re STUCK with this company that you don’t really like for years to come!

Doesn’t sound like much of an investment anymore does it…

Look I’m not trying to scare you but I do believe when you make a decision it should be an educated one which is why I wrote this for YOU!

Hope I was able to help make your decision easier the next time you come across this question in your hunt for a professional Christmas light installation company.
